Daggerfall Mac Download
I've created a single click executable that allows you to play The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall on the Mac. Download the .zip file and extract. Click on the file inside to play the game, nothing else needed, no configuration, nothing. Just play. It will start in full screen mode, however ALT + ENTER will revert back to windowed mode.
Daggerfall Mac includes all the official Bethesda released (v2.13), and the CD version of the game that includes the Intro and all the cut scenes. The Save game bug has been fixed, tested to work on Mac OSX 10.13 High Sierra.

Nice port, how does one save a game though?
To save use 'ESC' then 'Save Game' button.
If you are trying to save in the starter dungeon, 'Privateer's Hold' it can be quite hard as it's know bug with Daggerfall.
You will get a message similar to 'daggerfall has encountered an internal error at 1000'
Once you're out, it should save if you try, be patient.

I can't get it to save, no matter where I am. Every time, it crashes with the internal error above, saying it can't write to the disk.

it makes me sign up to a thingamajig.

Just tested it, there's a download button you just click, no signup needed.

--Okay I answered my own question, in case anyone runs into the same problem: I trashed the app., then re-downloaded it, and now it works fine. Weird?

I CANT SAVE. I got out of the first dungeon like you said and as soon as I got in to the open world I thought "Ok now I should save just in case it crashes". So and went to save and a command prompt comes up and says C:\DAGGER> I desperately need to play this game. How can I fix this? Thanks alot. By the way I love your app called Lander, its the most entertaining app Ive ever downloaded.

I've fixed the problem with saving games and uploaded a new version.
The new version also includes all of the official patches Bethesda released (v2.13) and the CD version of the game that includes the Intro and all of the cut scenes.
This works on OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks.

Now I understand alt + esc is windowed , but how do I revert it to fullscreen? I'm stuck with a small centered window with a black frame.
Any ideas?

It says I should download Xquartz X11. Should I?
XQuartz is fine, this is the official response from Apple:
X11 is no longer included with OS X, but X11 server and client libraries for OS X are available from the XQuartz project: http://xquartz.macosforge.org. You should use the latest available version of XQuartz.

It's the guy who asked about Xquarts, hey again. I'm not a big computer guy, but i do love the Elder Scrolls series with all my heart! (Thank you so much for helping me with my dream of playing every TES game!) I don't want to goo through to much to get it to open. I also had a bad experience with a virus I obtained while trying to download applications that were said to help open the game. Is there any real easy way to open it? I have OS X Yosemite and am having lots of trouble with it. I've recently given up and just let it sit on my desktop, but have gained intrest in th game. Everyone else using OS X Yosemite seems to be fine, and that's why I'm wondering why I'm having so much trouble. Thanks, and don't take this the wrong way! I really appreciate what your doing, and Thanks. -Sean
PS I think you should work on Morrowind when it's free to play!
Did anyone else have to download Xquarts to play the game?
I will get Xquartz, but do I have to type a specific command into Xquartz, or will it just work automatically?

i'm having a problem in windowed mode where i cant move my cursor, anyone else have this problem? either than that works great and thanks for the port.
I'm running Yosemite 10.10.3 and have uninstalled XQuarts and the games still plays.
After unzipping the file you should have a single Icon, double click that and it should play. Nothing else to do. Noting else to install, should just work.
I can't seem to open the first door or swing my sword. what's going on?
nevermind, needed to click to open the door. and had to hold attack and move mouse to swing. thanks for the game! :P
Hello there. I just downloaded this version of Daggerfall today and it works great for me....on the first time using it. If and when I close it, I go to click the icon again, it takes me to DOSBox 0.73 and needs me to input a directory after Z:\>
What do I need to type in to resume the game? Thank you for reading this post. :)
how do i swing my weapon? i've tried the button so many times and it's never worked

Your "single click executable" is just a picture... I click it and get nothing but an expanded image... What am I doing wrong here?
Same problem as the gentleman two comments above. Not getting a confirmation mail. Any tips? I'll try again later today and see if it's fixed itself :)

I was wondering if it's possible to use save files from the daggerfall save folder from a windows to put it on a daggerfall save folder on mac? I tried and i got an error loading it form the mac. Any ideas?

^ Sadly it is dead: "File does not exist on this server." I would love to be able to download this! I've been attempting to configure and install Arena via DOSBox for the last...well, while, and was thrilled to find your packages! Oddly, the Arena download link is live and available from the same website; it's just the Daggerfall link that's dead.

I open and I just get a DOS prompt saying that I need to run Daggerfall.exe from the hard drive. When I type daggerfall.exe it says there is no CD found
Same here, prompts me to run Daggerfall.exe and then says I need to insert CD
Have re-loaded to a more reliable hosting service, can re-try the new download.
Im using macOS Sierra and downloaded from link. Unzipped and right clicked executable then open (first time only for security purposes)
I did notice that the dos box window appeared briefly, then was gone. (Thought it was the download hence re-uploading)
For me it didn't like running for the first time from the 'download' folder. I moved it out to desktop, right click, open, and worked perfectly.
Try running from desktop for the first time.
Thanks for taking the time to make this available. Have you experienced lag issues in macOS High Sierra? Seems to be the new standard for me...

I can't launch it. Dosbox opens for half a second, then closes itself :/
I read your comment saying to lauch from desktop, it works! So if Dosbox closes itself after a second, open the application from the desktop!

while the link works and i was able to download it, i am unable to do anything at the select your home province screen
gonna edit what i previously said, the mouse doesnt work at all unless its in full screen mode

I'm playing this on mac. When I exit the game it goes black. And I can't get out of it, have to force shut down my computer. What do I do?
Cannot get an actual download link. Its a locked spam link. hasn't fully locked me up but, is not allowing any further action.
